Dennis Costi
Duo Trio Quartet Video
The DENNIS COSTI DUO has actively performed for the past 20 years for concerts, public celebrations, weddings and private parties of all kinds. During this time, the DUO has been successful by having both a varied and distinctive sound. They have a large and diverse music library, which includes Light Jazz, Latin, Beautiful Ballads, The Blues, Swing, Show Tunes, Pop and Light Classical favorites. They are always pleased to play requests whenever possible, including music for Jewish weddings.

DENNIS plays Saxophones, (tenor and soprano), Flute and Clarinet, which adds great richness to the color and feel of the music. With fine Guitar
accompaniment, the DUO achieves a full, unique and expressive sound that is sure to please many diverse audiences. They frequently add an upright bass
player to make a versatile TRIO, perfect for weddings and receptions.

DENNIS COSTI was born and raised in the Portland, Oregon area, where he
earned a Bachelors of Arts degree from Portland State University. He moved
from Portland to Vancouver, WA in 1974. He has maintained a very active private teaching schedule, instructing students on saxophone, flute and clarinet. He is also widely called upon as a clinician and contest adjudicator.

Since the beginning of his professional career in 1964, DENNIS COSTI has
played in many different music settings including Classical, Jazz and Pop genres. He has performed as a Soloist, in Duos, Small Combos, Big Bands, Show Bands and Symphony Orchestras. He has played in the Oregon Symphony Orchestra’s Classical and Pop Series, conducted by James DePriest, and Norman Leyden. Some of the stars he has played with include Ray Charles, Doc Severinsen, Mel Torme, Tom Jones, Dianne Shure, Johnny Mathis, the 5th Dimension, Lou Rawls, Smokey Robinson, The Supremes, The Temptations, Frankie Avalon and Natalie Cole.

DENNIS COSTI is also currently leading his own eight-piece Swing Band,
SWING DC. They played every Thursday evening, on board the sternwheeler, QUEEN OF THE WEST, that cruises between Astoria and Idaho on the Columbia River. The band earned rave reviews, and is extremely proud to have played on board for seven consecutive seasons. Off the ship, SWING DC performs throughout the greater Portland/Vancouver area at many public and private venues. Their music is perfect for listening and dancing.

For smaller events, a QUARTET with drums is available for dancing.
