De'Zhon as Sammy Davis Jr.

De’zhon Fields is an accomplished singer and dancer. With over 10 years of vocal/dance experience, he has been able to capture and deliver the legendary style and essence of the great Sammy Davis Jr.

In 2002 De’zhon began performing in tribute shows as Sammy Davis Jr. in Vancouver Washington, where he currently resides. Dezhon began singing and dancing at the age of 10, in school and church plays. He has since gone on to perform in theatre productions worldwide.

Beginning with a Tony Award winning play called “Cinderella Brown” where he was a principle dancer in Long Beach California. De’zhon is a former ballroom/salsa instructor. He trained for several years under the instruction of National Ballroom/Salsa Champion Sonya Cortez , in Los Angeles California, where he lived for over 10 years.

De’zhon was also very active in inspiring youths with an interest in performing. He worked closely with Laura Whittaker, teacher and mother to actor Forrest Whittaker, performing in cultural events. In addition, he went to various youth homes and facilities throughout the greater Los Angeles area, encouraging troubled youth to pursue their dreams.

Having been told most of his life that he looks like Sammy Davis Jr., De’zhon decided to research the great entertainer. After reading a book titled “ Why Not Me” De’zhon realized that he identified with Sammy Davis’ style as well as his passion for entertainment and outlook on life.

This is what sparked De’zhon’s passion for tribute artistry.

De'Zhon has been featured at many prestigious venues, including the following

In March of 2005 he appeared on AM Buffalo (in NewYork) for the 44th annual Variety Kid’s Telethon. This telethon aired locally on ABC. The Variety Kid’s Telethon raised over 1 million dollars for the Children’s Hospital of Buffalo that year. In this telethon De’zhon performed with celebrities such as Clifton Davis (of TV sitcoms “Amen” and “ That’s my Mamma”) Ilene Graff (of TV sitcom “ Mr. Belvedere”). Mr. Food, Airbourne Eddie (a local TV personality) and more.

De’zhon continues to travel worldwide showcasing his homage to the legendary Sammy Davis Jr.
