The Freddy Pink Band

Drawing from a diverse repertoire, spanning Rock and Soul hits from the 60’s, the 70’s, the 80’s, and the 90’s, Freddy Pink delivers them all, with a new-millennium twist. That has been for years, and continues to be, “The Freddy Pink Promise!”

Through the years Freddy Pink’s “A” list performers have worked with such giants as Tina Turner, Sly and The Family Stone, Tower of Power, Chris Botti, Little Richard, Johnny Rivers, Natalie Cole, Dr. John, and Canada’s favorite R&B legends, The Powder Blues, to name a few.

The group started out performing as a club and festival act in the Pacific
Northwest, performing their own arrangements of the great R&B and Rock and Roll classics that they would eventually dub “Rock and Soul. Working their way up through the years they would become a staple on the West Coast casino and fair circuits, but it was 2005 where the band made the monumental leap from Seattle band to semi-national status.

The band partnered with “Outdoors For All”, a Seattle based charitable organization that helps physically challenged people get out and enjoy the great outdoors, with specially configured bicycles, wheelchairs, mono-skis and kayaks. Freddy Pink had been looking for the right charity to be involved with, and Outdoors For All was the perfect fit, as all the guys in the band thoroughly enjoy mountain activities, and all are season-pass holders at Stevens Pass, located in the Cascade Range near Seattle, where the group began performing unique outdoor benefit concerts on the snow.

It was there, performing on top of a mountain, that Freddy Pink found success in a niche market, the ski industry, a place bandleader Gordon Yancey was very familiar with, and has loved his entire life. Recognizing the need for quality music in North America’s most well known ski resorts, and the fact that most are located in remote areas, away from New York, and L.A. that the band began expanding their touring market to include several performances in, Sun Valley Idaho, Big Sky Montana, The Yellowstone Club, Salt Lake City, and it’s surrounding ski areas. The group will perform in those locations again In 2010, as well as expanding into new territory that will include Colorado, Northern California, and New Mexico.

To date, Freddy Pink has become one of the most sought after acts on the West Coast for corporate events. Freddy Pink has entertained Microsoft, Arbonne, Boeing, Seiko, Rolex, IBM, The American Association of Ophthalmic Surgeons, The International Federation Of Space Explorers, Adidas, Alaska Airlines, Autotrader.com, Univera, Nordstrom, the PGA, the NBA, Bausch and
Lomb, NECA, the National Electrical Contractors Association, and the list
goes on and on. They were dubbed the “Official Band of The Washington State Ferries”, and billed as “the ultimate wedding band” by Meaghan Perry, Director of Events at The Seattle Sheraton Hotel. Howard Wright III, of Seattle’s Space Needle Corporation was quoted as saying, “Freddy Pink’s got it all going on!
