Jugglemania

Funnier and "cleaner" than most comics.
More amazing than most magicians.
As interactive as a good hypnotist.
As inspiring as most motivational speakers.

JuggleMania is the "Something Different" that you were looking for. Since 1987, audiences on three continents have applauded the hilarity and dexterity of Rhys Thomas. Combining the quick wit of stand-up comedy with the dextrous feats of the circus, Rhys creates amazing performances for regional theatres, national corporate events, and international festivals.

Chapter one: Rhys is bitten by a radioactive juggler.

Sorry, nothing so freaky. In reality, Rhys learned to juggle in high school to impress a girl and then lost the girl and juggled to forget. Now he's got an M.F.A. (Master of the Frivilous Arts). Actually, he's got a B.S. (which is the appropriate degree for a journalism major).

With nothing more than a college education and thousands of hours of practice, Rhys taught himself enough juggling, comedy and physics to go from Seattle street performer to international stage sensation.

Along the way he has managed to:
  • Support a family for over 16 years by performing for regional theaters, national corporate events, international festivals, museums, schools and meetings of secret societies.

  • Appear on worldwide television teaching the mathematics of juggling AND be quoted in The New York Times and Wall Street Journal on the same ecclectic topic.

  • Serve as Artist in Residence at The Smithsonian Institution.

  • Twice represent the U.S. at the Street Theater World Cup in Shizuoka, Japan.

  • Appear across the nation on Real TV accidently setting his hair on fire.

  • Open for such artists as James Taylor, Leon Redbone, The Grateful Dead, Weird Al Yankovich and Weird Al Gore.

  • Perform for over 2,000 at the Intel Pentium IV release party.

  • Perform for over 10,000 at NBA half times.

  • Appear in the prestigious public shows of both the International Jugglers' Association in Reno, Nevada and the European Juggler Association in Svendborg, Denmark.

  • Author an obscure juggling manual that's now available in Japanese and being sold on four continents.
JuggleMania for Corporate Events.
JuggleMania banquet shows regularly receive standing ovations and have worked for audiences as diverse as The International Society of Neurological Surgeons and the National Congress of Clowns of America as well as Nike, Intel, Hewlett-Packard, Kettle Foods, Microsoft, Boeing, and so on.

JuggleMania For Festivals and Special Events
From Portland Trailblazer halftime shows to industry tradeshows in Anaheim to competing in the Street Performer Worldcup in Shizuoka, Japan, Rhys has succeeded at an incredible variety of events.
