Keegan Smith and the Fam

Portland, Oregon native Keegan Smith has taken the Northwest music scene by storm this year winning two coveted titles during the 09' Portland Music Awards. Smith won landslide victories in the catagories- Male Artist of the Year (45% of the votes) and Best Live Performance (60% of the votes).
The awards show took place January 29th 2009 in the city's historic Crystal Ballroom with over 25,000 votes being cast over a three week period. Smith explains that, "These awards are the product of his groups drive and dedication to always push the creative limits in the recording and performing arts."
Smith's now Portland based collective “The Fam" is made up of a rotating cast of musical heavyweights, producers, and bandleaders from Eugene, and Portland. Together they create a envigorating musical presentation, distinctly known as, "Urban Americana", captivating audiences in a variety of markets.
Keegan has developed these markets with a grass roots approach that has grown into thriving East and West coast followings. Whether you find him at his weekly Portland venues, or local/regional festivals such as The Bite of Oregon, Bend Brewfest, Central Oregon Blues Festival, Widmere Brewery's
Oktoberfest, the World Cafe Live in Philadelphia, or at LA's prestigious Room 5, you will understand the depth of Smith's creativity, as no two shows are ever the same.
