Kit Taylor

Kit Taylor is a 27 year old professional pianist living in the Portland area.

After being classically trained in college, Kit successfully moved into the realm of jazz. He is now renowned for his original interpretations of current and classic songs, as well as his trendy, youthful appearance.

You might have heard Kit play at any of the myriad of locations that have called his music home. He was a pianist for Nordstrom from ’03-’08, and has played at venues such as The Benson Hotel, The Heathman Hotel, The Heathman Lodge, The Tiffany Center, Arrivederci Wine Bar, Jimmy Maks (with his band), regularly at The Shilo Inn Suites Lounge on Airport Way in Portland, and many, many others.

After a limited release of his debut solo piano album, Kit is in the process of finishing tracks for a follow-up recording. Artists that he favors include Stevie Wonder, Sting, George Gershwin, Errol Garner, Alicia Keys, and Billy Joel.

Along with playing frequently, Kit is also currently attending college with a focus on composition and film music.

Kit’s trademark feel for the ivories has created an ever-expanding fan base. He is available to hire for any kind of event, and you can be assured that he won’t disappoint.

“Kit Taylor plays with great emotion and depth... from what I have heard he has a wonderful insight into music.”
- David Friesen, Academy Award nominated recording artist

“Kit brings a youthful energy to Portland’s music scene. I admire his playing, his choice of tunes, and his commitment to not only the art, but to the business of music as well.”
- Michael Horsfall, National recording artist

“Not only is Kit an incredibly talented musician; he is also hard working, and extremely professional.”
- Mark Jeleniewski, National recording artist

"Kit plays with a polish, authority and professionalism that belies his age. He is to be highly recommended for any event."
-
John Fresk, Grammy Nominee
