Kathy Walker

Kathy Walker is the Northwest's pre-eminent soul diva, recognized for her monstrous pipes and virtuostic phrasing. Born in Texas and raised just outside Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Kathy is lauded as one of the Northwest's premiere vocalists, and is backed by a grooving rhythm section and tight horns. The KWB recently release their debut CD, and on the strength of their 'killer set at the Waterfront Blues Festival' (the BLUES NOTES), was signed to a deal with the distribution arm of Burnside Records.

The band has performed at the Northwest's top events (Waterfront Blues Festival, Rose Festival, Bite of Seattle, Bite of Portland, The Taste of Tacoma, The Oregon State Fair, Olympia Capital Lakefair, Oregon GI Blues Music Festival, Seattle Peace Concerts, Vancouver Jazz Festival, Concerts on Pioneer Square, Museum After Hours and many others) as well as top nightspots (Jimmy Mak's, The Candlelight, The Green Room, Cascade Bar & Grill, Larry's Greenfront, The Gemini, Trail's End Saloon, etc...) and is a popular choice on the casual circuit as well, performing at such venues as The Waverly Country Club, Oregon Golf Club, Inn at the Mountain, Reed Opera House and The Rose Quarter.
