Metro

Sterling Talent is proud to present Metro, an amazing group of top rated, full time, studio quality musicians and vocalists, each with their own recording projects, who have come together to create a dazzling, high energy presentation that features music from the 60's through the 90's: jazz to funk, suitable for audiences of all ages.

Their musical style is self-described as "Urban, R&B, funk, Soul, Groove Music," but no matter how you define Metro's format, people unanimously agree that this talented group has paid careful attention to every detail of their performance, both on stage and off. Metro sets itself apart from other bands in their enthusiasm to tailor each performance to the needs and preferences of their audiences.

Metro is proud to welcome lead vocalist, Jeff Beatty, formerly lead singer of “5 Guys Named Moe”, who after 22 years with The Moes has joined this high energy group of legendary players.

His amazing vocals, along with his polished stage presence, takes the band to a new level of performance and makes the Metro band the most sought after and highly respected show band to hail from the Pacific NW in many years.

Sandra McDaniel’s amazing vocal talent has been an exciting addition to Metro’s  solid dance sound.

Her performance background began in church at a young age, and since that time has led her to studio work with recording artists that include Philip Bailey and Irene Cara.

In addition, as a studio singer, she has done commercial work. Among her credits, you may have heard her singing a nationally broadcast commercial for Multi- Grain Cheerios!

Additionally for the past several years, McDaniel has been a featured vocalist with the Oregon Symphony Gospel Christmas show.

Jeff Frankel, creator of the Metro band is a native New Yorker with a
notable performance history of his own.

Playing the drums since age 7, his music career mentor was his father, a former drummer who played with several East Coast Big Bands and early in his career, enjoyed occasionally sharing the stage with such notables as Stan Getz and Herbie Mann.

During Frankle's career, he has played, toured and recorded with such artists as Boz Scaggs, Bonnie Raitt, Lydia Pense and Todd Rungren, and has developed high standards of performing excellence for his own projects which include Metro.

Since 1991, Frankel has made his presence known throughout the Pacific NW region both on the stage and in the recording studio. A highlight to his regional career has been the opportunity to play and record with Pacific Northwest Jazz icon Tom Grant.

Metro was created when Frankel gathered together some of the top players and vocalists in the region and carefully crafted a group that has become known for it's professionalism, attention to detail and high quality musicianship and vocals. He then assembled a songlist that features dance tunes from the 60's to the 90's and beyond.

Frankel's vision continues to be the soul of this powerful and talented group of entertainers.
